La Universidad de Barcelona es obra del arquitecto Elies Rogent que hizo un edificio de inspiracion medieval en el nuevo distrito del Ensanche (l'Eixample).
El fotógrafo elige un punto de vista elevado que, en diagonal, nos da idea del tamaño del eficio de la Universidad al mismo tiempo que nos muestra tambien la Plaza y la fuente que se encuentran delante suyo.
Esta foto esta incluída en un album formado por gelatino bromuros de 20x26 cm titulado "Recuerdo de Barcelona".
El fotógrafo fue un importante editor de postales de nombre Oriol del cual no he conseguido prácticamente dato biográfico alguno más que tuvo actividad en Barcelona en el primer tercio del siglo XX.
