Atendiendo a

The Ministry of Culture and Sports, through the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, organizes, in collaboration with the Academy, on the occasion of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the exhibition "La España de Laurent (1856-1886). A photographic journey through history. "
As a complement to the exhibition, the Ministry of Culture and Sports offers a program of free activities consisting of guided tours for adult audiences (www.visitaslaurent.es), activities for school and family audiences ....
We are facing one of the best photography exhibitions in recent years.
When I say this, I mean that anyone who comes to see her, with prior or no knowledge of Laurent's photography, comes out with full information on the importance of his work.
The exhibition includes his portrait work, magnificent Espartero's Fernández Rivero Collection, his letters of visit, his albums highlighting the civil works of Spain etc.
No less important is the present section of varied photographic material, curious the Laurent glass marketed by G.Washington Wilson, or his negatives to realize how they are in reality.
It is, I think, one of the most visited photo exhibitions, of course when I went there it was quite crowded and included a large group that attended a guided tour.
Remember that, as a complement to his time, there are photos of Clifford and some of his collaboration with José Martínez Sánchez.
However, a small personal consideration, the work of Laurent, very good and extensive, documentary, important for the history of Spain, advertising of Spain in the world in the nineteenth century does not, however, reach the top of the photographic other photographers of his time.
