Dentro de la autopista del río Columbia , es decir, de la Columbia River Highway esta vista nos situa en "Looking west fron Mitchell point, at Sonny,Hoo River County".
El punto del vista del fotógrafo es, en esta ocasión, un punto bajo para demostrarnos lo pequeño que es el hombre frente a la naturaleza.
Vemos como la carretera serpentea por las rocas, pegándose a ellas y, al fondo, los bosques de la zona donde distinguimos la huella humana en la aislada cabaña.
Esta autopista es hoy un lugar histórico para la administracion americana que la considera un National Historic Landmark asi como National Civil Engineering Landmark.
Arthur Prentiss fue un famoso fotógrafo del Oeste Americano, que recogió la vida de los indios, y la actividad del hombre blanco en la américa de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX (actividad forestal con la Spruce Company es un ejemplo). Tuvo estudio solo y también en compañia de otros famosos fotógrafos como: Benjamin Gifford y George Weister.

- Angelus Studio Photograps University of Oregon. Historic Photographs Collections: George Weister founded the studio, and had negatives dating back to 1872. He worked as an official photographer for a railroad company. The bulk of his work was commercial photography. According to the typewritten paper, and ms notes, he died in 1918 or 1922 or 1923. Upon Weister's death (or disability) he sold his studio to Arthur Prentiss, who had worked for him since 1910 ( Oregon Photographers by Thomas Robinson)

The images show Americans at home, at work, and at play, with an emphasis on rural and small-town life and the adverse effects of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and increasing farm mechanization. Some of the most famous images portray people who were displaced from farms and migrated West or to industrial cities in search of work.
