Exposiciones para ver y comentar. Virxilio Vieitez Espacio Telefonica y Ballester en Tabacalera Madrid.
Coinciden en Madrid al mismo tiempo dos exposiciones que nos muestran dos maneras completamente diferentes de ver la fotografía.
Una de ellas es del fotógrafo gallego Virxilio Vieitez en Espacio Telefónica (con acento porque me parece lo correcto)

y otra es la de José María Ballester en Tabacalera con la siguiente descripción:
A través de medio centenar de fotografías, BOSQUES DE LUZ muestra los últimos ocho años de trabajo de este artista madrileño, pintor y fotógrafo, distinguido con el Premio Nacional de Fotografía 2010 por su trayectoria personal y por su singular interpretacion del espacio arquitectonico y la luz
En palabras de las comisarias, “el
artista no se propone desarrollar un lenguaje fotográfico específico,
sino utilizar el objetivo como testigo para justificar, registrar,
matizar e interrogar la actualidad y el progreso”.
Vieitez es un fotógrafo que realiza su obra hace apenas unos pocos años pues en fotografía un día puede ser un mundo y cuarenta años solo el ayer. Sus fotos nos muestran gentes de pueblo, de los pueblos de Galicia a las cuales coloca, sitúa para hacer la foto, para mejor enseñarnos como es la persona, su entorno y, muchas veces, sus sueños o las ausencias de sus familiares, sitúa repito de la manera mas digna, formal y, en mi opinión con gran inventiva. Es decir la relación idea-composición-medios-resultado es excelente.
¿Se imagina usted hoy haciendo estas fotos? Lo mas posible es que hicieramos el retrato, el rostro y ahí se acabó la foto. Vieitez, con difícil sencillez, nos compone la historia, sea de una abuela, madre de emigrante añadiendo cualquier objeto que defina o, sencillamente sacando a las personas al exterior, en el jardín o en la mitad de la carretera.
Observemos ahora la obra de Ballester. Nos impacta, ya que, ¿cómo habrá obtenido tal calidad de imagen? ¿y esos colores? ¿y cómo elimina a las personas para crear ausencias? Pues, pienso, que con medios, técnica, buen gusto, tiempo y, medios, medios, muchos medios. Impacta la foto, no emociona.
Pero el gran fotógrafo no necesita grandes medios para hacer una gran obra de arte, a veces un paisano de pueblo, un fotógrafo de pueblo nos enseñan como se hace una foto, ese paisano es Vieitez.
Me gustaría saber retratar así hoy , como Vieitez lo hizo ayer,lo haría hoy.
Nota personal: también me gustaría tener los medios que ahora tiene su hija para hacer ampliaciones actuales a tamaño A2 (42x59 cm) de fotos (¿qué tamaño de negativo?) que originariamente no eran ni de 9x6 cm (véase en la exposición la foto del chico con disfraz de superman).
