This magnificent vintage photography shows a view of Frías, a town in the province of Burgos, Spain.
The photographer Ortiz Echagüe is one of the greatest Spanish photographers of the XX century. His style was pictorialism, which had quite a few critics at the beginning because it represented the most unknown parts of Spain which didn't want to be shown. Nowadays his work has gain a lot of recognition being one of the most important Spanish photographer abroad.
This picture is mounted on the standard cardboard of the photos that belong to the "Dirección General de Turismo" (Spanish General Deparment of Turism). There we can read that we are in front of a vintage picture of Frías, and that the photographer is Ortiz Echague. It is also written that, in case the picture is reproduced, do not mention his name as the author.
The photographer Catalá Roca had also pictures belonging to the Dirección General de Turismo archive which demostrates that this archive has pictures of the most important Spanish photographers.
All vintage pictures of the Dirección General de Turismo are in the archives of the Administración General del Estado in Alcalá de Henares.
