Pau Audouard fue uno de los más importantes retratistas de Barcelona. Tuvo varios estudios en Barcelona (Travesia de las Corts 275 fue el primero de ellos).Son destacados sus retratos femeninos como el presente, en este caso en el conocido como formato carta de gabinete-14x10 cm formato que creó el fotógrafo inglés Georges W. Wilson.
En esta fotografía la elegancia y la belleza de la mujer hacen innecesario que mire directamente a la cámara, la pose que el fotógrafo ideó logra la dificil sencillez de representar a una bella mujer.
Audouard también fotografió Barcelona, sus calles, su puerto y su Exposición Universal.
