Archivo general de la Adminstración del Estado. España Alcalá de Henares. Catálogo Monumental de España en Google Earth
Hace unos días se puso un comentario en este blog sobre una aplicación realizada por el Archivo General de la Administración del Estado, con sede en Alcalá de Henares, lugar donde se encuentra guardado, entre otros, el archivo fotográfico de España correspondiente a las fotos de Patronato de Turismo y de la Dirección General de Turismo.

Con Google Earth actualizado y mediante una pequeña aplicación que se descarga en el link
se pueden realizar búsquedas de fotos dentro de los archivos citados por localización geográfica,tema,tipo de monumentos y fotógrafos.
Es una noticia que, como coleccionista de fotos, me produce gran alegría por varios motivos:
Un archivo/biblioteca/museo español pone fondos fotograficos al alcance del público en Internet.
- Las búsquedas son cómodas, estando bien estructuradas con el apoyo de Google Earth
- Muchos de estos fotógrafos están a falta de un reconocimiento público de su labor, perdida por la época en que fue realizadas - años 30-70 - y por estar considerada labor turística siendo ésta claramente artística.
- Habría que decir a los Directores de estos archivos fotográficos que muchos fotógrafos antiguos fueron "turísticos" y no por ello dejan de ser grandes fotógrafos. Pensemos en Alinari, Brogi, Baldus, Marville, Atckins, Adams, Georges W. Wilson, Anderson, Rive o el caso mismo de Laurent, L.Levy.

En este estudio nos señalan que
..En 1938 la Administración sublevada crea el Servicio
Nacional de Turismo dependiente del Ministerio del Interior. Definitivamente
convertido en Dirección General del Turismo en 1939 asumió las competencias del
extinto Patronato, competencias que incluían la continuación del archivo
fotográfico.
La dependencia de esta Dirección General cambió en 1941 a la Vicesecretaría de Educación
Popular hasta su definitiva adscripción en 1951 al recién creado Ministerio de
Información y Turismo, que se mantuvo hasta 1977…….
…Por ser este bloque uno de los más importantes en cuanto
a producción fotográfica, señalaremos varios aspectos que se consideran de
importancia:
- Se tratan de verdaderos archivos fotográficos creados
por diferentes unidades dentro de la estructura de un Ministerio o de un
organismo. No son fotografías sueltas ni dispersas entre los expedientes
administrativos, configuraron una unidad definida, como archivo fotográfico,
servicio fotográfico, etcétera.
- La inmensa mayoría de las imágenes que se conservan en
estos archivos fotográficos administrativos son el resultado de verdaderos
profesionales, con lo cual la calidad y valía artística de las imágenes es
superior a la de otros fondos……

Patronato Nacional
del Turismo (1928-1939).
Un capítulo aparte lo constituye el IDD (03)120.000 que
corresponde al fondo fotográfico del (mal llamado) PNT. Son 334 cajas que
incluyen 80.975 fotografías, 49 sobres de índices fotográficos y 7 álbumes. Es
el mal llamado fondo del PNT porque, no lo es tal (el PNT se liquidó al
finalizar la guerra) lo que es realmente es el gran archivo fotográfico de la
administración turística español durante décadas, ya que hay fotografías hasta
los años sesenta durante los años del MIT.
Dentro de él, se encuentra la fracción más antigua (que sí
debería llamarse PNT) y que se conoce como “Catálogo monumental de España”
compuesto por 3.861 fotografías de todo el territorio nacional tomadas por los
fotógrafos del PNT entre 1928 y1936. Está última está digitalizada.

nacional, la ley de 30 de
enero de 1938, creaba el Servicio Nacional de Turismo (equivalente
al PNT de la España republicana) dependiente del Ministerio del Interior.
Dirección General
de Turismo (1939-1951) Por Ley de 8 de agosto de 1939 los antiguos servicios de la guerra se
convirtieron en direcciones generales, de manera que el primer organismo de administración
turística de la posguerra fue una Dirección General dentro del Ministerio de
Gobernación.
