El fotógrafo Enrico Van Lint era hijo del escultor Michel Van Lint al que se deben numerosos monumentos de Pisa.
Durante un tiempo Enrico va a llevar el taller de su padre pero pronto se decanta por la fotografía.
Las fotografías de Van Lint, entre 1860 y 1884 van a dar a conocer la imagen de Pisa y de sus monumentos al mundo entero atrayendo hacia esta ciudad la mirada de los turistas.
Esta foto lleva la firma en sello impreso lo que nos indica que pertenece a los primeros tiempos de su labor fotográfica (c. 1870' s) .
Los fotos de Van Lint tienen una calidad media superior a las fotografias comerciales de los estudios fotograficos que se empiezan a extender por toda Italia a finales del siglo XIX.
