En esta foto el fotógrafo busca mostrarnos la amplia nave que ocupa la fábrica escogiendo para ello un punto de vista amplio y alejado, a la vez que hace posar a las mujeres operarias, cada una delante de su mesa de trabajo.
La fábrica de conservas es obra del arquitecto Jenaro de la Fuente, realizada en 1929

Este álbum nos muestra las diferentes partes de la fábrica Albo
construida en la ciudad de Vigo en 1929 por el Arquitecto Jenaro de la
Fuente y Domínguez en la calle Jacinto Benavente esquina con la calle
Paz. . Es un edificio que, al exterior parece una obra civil mientras
que su interior esconde la fábrica de conservas.
Jenaro de la Fuente fue también autor del Balneario de Mondariz
inaugurado en 1898. Feliciano Pardo sería un destacado fotógrafo de
dicho Balneario.El edificio se conserva en la actualidad.
Las fotos recorren las diferentes estancias de la fábrica, en ellas
vemos los trabajadores que, en determinadas ocasiones, parecen posar
para el fotógrafo.
También si nos fijamos bien observamos en muchas de las fotos la
figura de un hombre con gorra que supongo que sea el encargado de la
fábrica.
Como comprobamos fácilmente en estas fábricas de conservas el personal trabajador era fundamentalmente de femenino.
Hijos de Carlos Albo es una de esas empresas características, la de
más solera tal vez, en el sector de Conservas de Pescado.
Fue fundada en 1869 con el nombre de Albo, Arredondo y Cia, en
Santoña, uno de los puertos pesqueros de mayor tradición del litoral
cantábrico, y su fundador fue Carlos Albo Kay.
La empresa nació en muy pequeña escala y artesanalmente,
produciendo anchoas en salazón y escabeches, para progresivamente
incrementar su actividad e iniciar a principios de siglo la auténtica
conserva apertizada que supuso un desarrollo notable de su producción,
llegando hasta nueve factorías implantadas a lo largo de todo el
litoral Cantábrico, necesidad impuesta por la ausencia de la tecnología
del frío y en consecuencia aproximarse a los puertos de mayores
aportaciones de pesca en fresco.
Actualmente, Hijos de Carlos Albo tiene 5 factorías en plena
actividad en Vigo (central), Cillero en Galicia, Santoña en Cantabria,
Candás y Tapia de Casariego en Asturias.

titulado “ Los primeros fabricantes de la industria conservera en
Santoña donde nos informa que el origen de la firma Hijos de Carlos Albo
se sitúa en 1887 cuando Carlos Albo se asocia en dicha villa con d.
Manuel Arredondo. Carlos Albo Kay, nacido en 1848, era originario de
Burdeos hijo de cantabro e inglesa. Se estableció en Santoña en la
década de 1870
