Photographer Gregorio Gonzalez Galarza collected images of the Basque Country in San Sebastian as a primary focus.
His photographic archive became part of the Museum of San Telmo in San Sebastian.
This bromide gelatine belongs to a batch of 10, one of which is dated in 1909, bought in Madrid.
What sets this photograph from others of the era is that it shows the industrial side of the Basque Country being the axis of the picture the tall chimney of the factory.
Curiously, the view recalls, as an artistic idea, the picture of Daniel Vazquez from the same time "The factory asleep."
