It is part of a set of photographs due to an anonymous photographer traveling in Spain touring different cities. (Seville, Avila, Burgos, Granada)This view of the apse is of great beauty, this Cathedral's image is a rare sight and very well preserved.

amateurs or professionals who took pictures of the city, and who had his photographic studio in it. In this file are preserved 68 photos taken by the Marquis de Avila in different places. It is a highly readable document that shows us the one hand, the great love of photography had yet to his 92 years, the Marquis of Santa Maria del Villar as well as the economic hardship suffered by the end of his life

Relacionamos a continuación el nombre de los fotógrafos que tomaron imágenes de Ávila, las cuales han sido publicadas
en libros, revistas o periódicos, o bien fueron comercializadas como tarjetas postales. Se incluyen también aquellos
aficionados o profesionales que hicieron fotos de la ciudad, y los que tenían su estudio fotográfico en la misma. Con ello, se haprocurado reseñar el nombre de los firmantes de los numerosos retratos realizados de Ávila, en un intento de confeccionar la nómina de los protagonistas de la historia de la fotografía abulense, la cual aún sigue pendiente de escribir.

Sanchidrian titulado "Avila Romántica en la fotografía de Jean Laurent 1864-1886 "para el Ayuntamiento de Avila sobre las fotos que Laurent hizo en esta ciudad. Cuidada edicion de calidad en la reproducción de las fotos y excelente el texto muy bien documentado

La Muralla de Avila Fotografía Histórica y Documental. 

Del mismo autor anterior D. Jesús M. Sanchidrian es este estudio, también con buenas fotos, sobre los fotógrafos que plasmaron la muralla de Ávila en sus fotos

• Marqués de Santa Maria del Villar y Ávila Archivo Pedro Anta

En este archivo se conservan 68 fotos realizadas por el Marques en diferentes lugares de Ávila. Es un documento de amena lectura que nos muestra, por una parte, la gran afición a la fotografía que tenía aún a sus 92 años el Marqués de Santa María del Villar asi como las estrecheces económicas que sufrió al final de su vida
