Hay documentos que, sin referirse explícitamente a la fotografía, son útiles para documentar algunas fotos antiguas.

El Faro se podría definir como una “fábrica” productora de iluminación de tal manera que el observador, a varias millas náuticas de distancia, lo identifique de un modo inequívoco. El navegante observará una luz puntual que aparece y desaparece, a
intervalos determinados, con una cadencia característica de cada Faro. La función primordial, y razón inicial de su existencia, es producir una señal luminosa por lo que los componentes básicos de la “fábrica” son la lámpara, el sistema de amplificación de
la luz (la óptica) y el sistema de identificación (elementos giratorios o destelladores).
Todo ello, el contenido, está colocado en la cúspide (linterna) de una torre variable en altura de un faro a otro, al servicio de los componentes básicos mencionados.................

El Trabajo está adjudicado a la Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea para ser realizado por Santiago Sánchez Beitia, y su equipo de trabajo, profesor de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Donostia-San Sebastián. En España existen 191 “fábricas” distintas entre sí, cumpliendo actualmente su función, insustituible a pesar de los adelantos tecnológicos del presente siglo XXI. Es el Patrimonio Industrial por antonomasia puesto que contiene bienes inmuebles, muebles e inmateriales. Es decir el Faro contiene todos los elementos que constituyen lo que el IPCE define como Bien Industrial

En España existen 191 “fábricas” distintas entre sí, cumpliendo actualmente su función, insustituible a pesar de los adelantos tecnológicos del presente siglo XXI. Es el Patrimonio Industrial por antonomasia puesto que contiene bienes inmuebles, muebles e inmateriales. Es decir el Faro contiene todos los elementos que constituyen lo que el IPCE define como Bien Industrial
