...........La Serie Patronato Nacional de Turismo engloba un importante volumen de fotografías y otra documentación gráfica: carteles de información de actividades, folletos informativos, etc. En total, 344 cajas, que incluyen 80.975 fotografías, 49 sobres de índices fotográficos y 7 álbumes.
La fracción más antigua de la serie, denominada Catálogo Monumental de España, se realizó entre los años 1928, fecha de creación del Patronato, y 1936, momento en que las actividades de promoción del turismo quedan interrumpidas por la Guerra Civil. Este catálogo se compone de 3.861 fotografías de diferentes lugares y tema vario, pero siempre relacionado con la actividad turística.........Fotos Direccion General de Turismo

........El sábado 6 de septiembre de 1913 el diario La Almudaina
recogió un artículo de Pedro Ferrer Gibert titulado "Ilustres
pintores, huéspedes hoy de Mallorca". Bajo el subtítulo "La
Meca de los Pintores" se hacía referencia a la presencia de
un núcleo de artistas extranjeros que se habían establecido
en el Port de Pollença y en la Cala San Vicenç, en este último
sitio se alojaron en la improvisada pensión de Can Niu,
ya que a principios del siglo XX, Mallorca no contaba con
establecimientos hoteleros , de modo que las fondas resultaban
mucho más económicas para una estada relativamente larga: Y
en este sitio predilecto es donde ha ido a buscar asuntos e
inspiración toda una pléyade de pintores que abandonaron la
capital del Arte –la artificiosa París- para zambullirse en un
baño de naturaleza.
Haciendo
un repaso a los pintores entrevistados por Pedro Ferrer que
fue acompañado de los pintores Antoni Gelabert y José Singala y
por el fotógrafo Guillem Bestard, permitió difundir una
realidad que se estaba consolidando en los últimos años: la
presencia de artistas foráneos..........
