Exposiciones para ver. PhotoEspaña 2015. Vogue like a painting. Museo Thyssen.

As fond of old photo you always can fail to approach PhotoEspaña see the current production of the great photographers.

Thyssen has pictures of background Vogue.
Are splendid, beautiful in the best sense of the word, and possibly as far away from the old photo photos photograph exists (well, not entirely accurate, the tableaux vivants, in some ways, resemble this type of photography)
Are the big names we know from the daily press Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Mario Testino (Patrick Demarchelier, Horst P. Horst (the photograph of him a model of Schiapparelli think it's the best of the exhibition) and many others.
They are pictures that have the best resources you can dream of a photographer: Models, clothes, architectural spaces, time to do them, assistants etc.
We will, though it sounds a bit exaggerated expression, have everything you need for great pictures. They are simply another world of photography, a special world, beautiful, spectacular, but especially in photography.
An anecdote read in a Sunday supplement best expresses what I try to explain: Peter Lindbergh was on an Italian island taking pictures for a magazine. The models were famous actresses. The time for taking pictures is supposed to .... slowly. Well says the journalist who during the interview Armani Lindbergh came to tell Lindbergh that his yacht, of Lindberh, take up much room in the harbor moorings ..
In any case an exhibition not to be missed, to enjoy the beauty.
And, as we are in the Thyssen, it is a must see exhibition of Zurbarán.
When you went to school, long ...., in art history we were told that Velazquez was the best painter but Zurbaran history, mysticism-brothers-and his famous still life of Cambo-collection made him almost comparable the art Velazquez.
Time passes and changes the training and personal appreciation of the paintings, the work of an artist.
Zurbarán is far, but far enough, Velazquez, as I always say opinion of an amateur.
The paintings which look at the dresses, suits and volumes achieved, perhaps in this case we can say that the exhibition approaches Vogue where the suit takes as much or more importance than the individual.
The faces are cold, in some cases repeated pattern-virgin girl for example, gestures, head bowed also remind the poses of models.
From this point of view the approach or updating the assessment of Zurbarán is possible.
Even the pictures of Santa Faz approach a photographic concept.
Finally discuss the still life Juan de Zurbaran I liked much or more than the mentioned still life of Cambo Collection.
Finally a good opportunity to go to the Thyssen Museum and, remember, its permanent exhibition whose visit should be repeated to see those pictures than on previous visits we passed them without seeing them or see them and appreciate goodThyssen

Somehow, they all reflect resources often used by painters: the theatricality of the scenes, the drama of chiaroscuro, the compositional schemes care and a special emphasis on the beauty of the figures, poses and sets
