Exposiciones para ver: Bruce Davidson . Fundación Mapfre
Hace unos días comenté la apertura de esta exposición en la Fundación Mapfre que es, junto con la Fundación Canal, el lugar, los lugares, de Madrid donde se presentan al cabo del año las mejores exposiciones de fotografía.
Pues bien, con motivo de un reciente viaje a Madrid, he tenido ocasión de ver estas fotos directamente.
Lo primero que quiero señalar es la conveniencia de leer todos y cada uno de los carteles de las partes o secciones de esta exposición. Lo digo porque yo habitualmente no lo hago y aqui creo que es muy conveniente para "leer" bien la exposición.
La obra de Bruce Davidson, casi desconocida para mí, me ha gustado mucho.
Me explico:
Hoy, con mucha frecuencia, vemos a grandes fotógrafos que van a buscar "un tema" cuanto más lejos y más dificil de llegar........mejor parecen, pueden parecer, sus fotos. Pienso, por poner un ejemplo, en la última obra de Sebastiao Salgado.
Lo que vemos en esta exposición es, precisamente, el desarrollo de un tema, encargo o reportaje, por parte de un fotógrafo.
Tema escogido o tema que te escoge una revista.
Con este punto de partida el fotógrafo disecciona, en imágenes, la vida de ese lugar o de esa gente y nos la presenta tal cual es.
Sus fotos son de proximidad, de confianza con el retratado y tienen una gran fuerza.
Vistas a la ligera algunas pueden parecer, relativamente, flojas técnicamente pero no es así, fue así como el fotógrafo quiso realizarlas para mejor hacer sus fotos, que sus fotos nos expliquen lo que vemos a través de ellas.
Si entramos en you tube y hacemos búsqueda con el nombre de Bruce Davidson encontramos bastantes vídeos sobre él, algunos de ellos entrevistas donde explica o comenta su obra.
Les recomiento que los busquen.
Aquí les presento uno pero, recuerden, si van a Madrid........pasen a ver esta exposición de fotografía como la primera, la mejor en este momento. ( una vez más, opinión de aficionado)
