Exposiciones para ver. Museo Barjola. Homenaje a Carlos Pérez Siquier & Ramón Masats.

  • Homenaje a Carlos Pérez Siquier & Ramón Masats.

In the Barjola Museum, during meetings photographic Gijon, several exhibitions are presented in different rooms:

Tribute to Carlos Perez Siquier & Ramón Masats.

Built memories Rosa Muñoz.

Domestic obsession: Magdalena Bors

Puerperium: Talent 2016 Photographic Encounters XIII Gijon Award New Iris G-Meras

To highlight the importance of photography exhibitions that can now be seen in Gijon during these meetings.

In addition to this exhibition remember that this Nicolas Muller Museum in the Valley, Colita in the gallery Aurora Vigil Escalera and Manuel Vilariño in the gallery Bea Villamarin.
Siquier Pérez's work, with its bright colors, it seems most wanted, less natural than other times but always with great skill. The issue is sometimes minimal and occupies much color photo became the protagonist of the same.
I have to be old, I like yours more photos of his early black and white which we have a copy here.
Ramón Masats who, like many others, has fallen into the attraction, for me incomprehensible, to increase the size of some of your photos, including known and recognized seminarian in goal occupies the other side of the room.
They are photos documenting us the reality of Spain made clear in details human-photo handicapped person talking to the driver of a steamroller, the pictures of the children in the village square smiling at the camera with carts bottom- with others more popular themes such as processions.
Rosa Muñoz said, repeating what I said in my previous comment:
It is a photograph whose way of understanding photography, the work of the photographer, do not share in any way, is to paint with pixels ....... but having said that I like your photos, they are worlds of great beauty, isolated elements or elements multiple that make up a picture.
Really "painting with pixels" is, like it or not, a form of photography, or, according to some, "the current form of photography" (remember the story of Steve McCurry manipulating photos, he being one of the examples of photojournalism ). However, the photos of Rosa Muñoz Volumetric I did not like nothing, nothing at all, is the desire to go further than anyone and, say, Arman did much better with pressed objects.
Concerning the photos of Iris G. Mears say that I find most the count of a story that a moment photographs and possibly that is what the photographer wanted and managed perfectly. The photo in the bathtub, his gesture, is especially beautiful.
The halls of the Museum Barjola much lend themselves to photography, even be mobile photos.
