Francis Bedforf fue uno de los grandes fotógrafos ingleses que recorrio las ciudades del Reino Unido y, también, por encargo de la Reina el Medio Oriente.
Sus obras se encuentran en todos los grandes museos del mundo.
En este caso su cámara se centra en unas casas de la calle Foregate de Chester que, como podemos ver más abajo,dicha calle existe todavía hoy.

Francis Bedford (1861–1894) was an English photographer who began
his career as a lithographer. Around 1852 he learned photography to aid
his printing work, and a few years later he was commissioned by Queen
Victoria to photograph items in the royal collections. In addition to
photographing objects, Bedford became known for his landscapes and views
of monuments. From 1863 to 1884 Bedford made annual photographic trips
to Devonshire and North Wales. In 1863 he served as photographer on the
Prince of Wales's tour of the Near East and Greece

Francis Bedford was the first photographer to accompany a royal tour. In 1862, when he was asked by Queen Victoria to travel with the Prince of Wales, Bedford was an accomplished and respected professional photographer, with two earlier royal commissions already successfully completed.
