Las tesis doctorales sobre fotografía, especialmente sobre documentación fotográfica son cada vez más habituales ( Al fin.La documentación fotográfica en, de España, es bastante escasa y muy dispersa, faltan las más de las veces estudios en profundidad como los que aportan las tesis doctorales)
- Dentro de este campo destacar la labor de la Universidad Complutense que, mediante E prints, pone a disposicion de todos excelentes tesis doctorales que nos informan y forman del mundo de la fotografía como la que presento a continuación

Es objeto de este trabajo dar a conocer a la comunidad científica los diecisiete fondos y colecciones fotográficas ubicados en el Archivo y Biblioteca Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid, en los que se conservan un millón y medio de fotografías de procedencia pública y privada desde los años 1890 hasta la actualidad. Existe una gran
variedad de tipologías y formatos entre los que podemos destacar las albúminas, los cianotipos, las placas de vidrio, y los positivos y negativos en papel. De los diecisiete fondos y colecciones, once se ubican en el Archivo Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid y seis en la Biblioteca Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid.

The object of this work to inform the scientific community seventeen funds and photographic collections located in the Archives and Regional Library of the Community of Madrid, in which a million and a half photographs of public and private sources are preserved from the years 1890 to the present. A wide
variety of types and formats among which we highlight albumin, blueprints, glass plates, and positive and negative role. Of the seventeen funds and collections, eleven are located in the Regional Archives of the Community of Madrid and six in the Regional Library of the Community of Madrid.
