Que una de las mayores bibliotecas del mundo presente un catálogo de datos sobre los fotógrafos, sus estudios ( las fechas de actividad del fotógrafo en los diferentes estudios que tuvo en su vida), sus fotos es, sin duda una gran noticia.
La New York Public Library acaba de presentar
- a collection of biographical data for over 115,000 photographers,
Photographers’ Identities Catalog (PIC) is an experimental interface to a
collection of biographical data describing photographers, studios,
manufacturers, and others involved in the production of photographic
images. Consisting of names, nationalities, dates, locations and more,
PIC is a vast and growing resource for the historian, student,
genealogist, or any lover of photography's history. The information has
been culled from trusted biographical dictionaries, catalogs and
databases,

Está todavía en proceso de mejora esta base de datos pero, en cualquier caso, es un gran avance pues manifiesta el interés por la fotografía y su documentación por parte de una gran institución
